Travel Insurance FAQs
Mary Murphy Travel strongly advises clients purchase travel insurance to protect the cost of the financial investment. Should you decline purchasing travel insurance, Mary Murphy Travel cannot be responsible for cancellation, emergency evacuation, accidents abroad, illness, lost baggage, flight mishaps, trip interruptions, and/or travel supplier default. In the event that you have to cancel or interrupt your trip, you acknowledge and agree that you may lose up to 100% of the total trip cost.
Why should I get travel insurance?
Everyone plans to go on their trip, but travel insurance covers you for UNFORESEEN events (unexpected illness, death in the family, medical emergency, terrorist event int he city you are visiting, etc.). We highly recommend the purchase of travel insurance int he event you must cancel or interrupt your trip due to a covered reason.
What will it cost?
Based on the ages of travelers, length of trip and total cost of the trip.
What is covered?
In order to cancel the trip and be eligible for reimbursement, please read the covered reasons for cancellation. **PLEASE NOTE: Travel insurance is not "cancel for any reason". If you want "cancel for any reason" coverage, please let us know so we can discuss.
When should I purchase it?
Once you make your first payment, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Coverage begins once the policy is purchased and is good through the end of your trip.
What if I decline?
Should you opt to decline coverage, we require a signed waiver declining coverage. The purchase of travel insurance or a signed waiver is required in order to make a trip deposit or full payment, whichever is first.
Covering pre-existing conditions?
To cover pre-existing conditions, you must purchase travel insurance within 21 days of your first payment on the trip.
What if trip components are added later?
If additional components are added to your trip cost, we can add coverage at a later date. This will increase the cost of your policy, but will ensure your entire trip cost is protected.
